Back to Nature

Today I thought I would share a couple of pictures from one of our trips on the Tomoka River. Sometimes, we will load the boat on the trailer and go to different areas just for fun. the Tomoka River is one of our favorites so here goes.

Jump Off Point
It was at this point that Hollywood started filming the "Tarzan" picture with Johnny Weissmuller (from whom, by the way, I learned to swim. That's another story). You can't see it in this picture, but there is a broken down dock where they would load up to go up river for filming.

Filming Area
This is the area they would actually do the filming in. As you can see, it is quite "wild" looking so it made a wonderful backdrop for the pictures. That is NOT a Hollywood celebrity in the picture but is Keith Carr, one of friends here at Bulow.

Just because it is a picture of Betty.
That is Mary Carr, Keith's wife getting some rays, and perhaps a little sunburn.

The saddest part of the trip.
It is always a little sad when the day is almost over and you have to put the boat back on the trailer to head home. the best part is you know you can do it again. This picture is showing you my skills as a boat handler getting the boat back on the trailer. That is Bill Lepson, another friend, watching.

  1. I'd like to hear the story about how "Tarzan"
taught you to swim. Should be interesting.
