There was a series of 4 hurricanes in 6 weeks and the damage was quite extensive from them. Although we were affected by them, they did pass below us so we were not directly in the path of the eye. However, there was plenty of water and lots of high winds. On the first one, a category 4 hurricane when it made landfall, we evacuated based on county recommendations to a friends house in Palm Coast. The next three we stayed put because it was obvious to us we were just as safe in our own home as anywhere else. Below are some pictures of the storm surge.
Boat Launch
This is the boat launch/public park area on one of the canals in the community. this launch is used by individuals that don't have direct access to the river, or when we want to take our boats to another river. As you can see, the water has completely covered the launch and dock area, with only the pilings showing.

Backyard
The next two pictures were taken from our deck at the back of the house. Our house sits very high so we were in no danger of flooding but we still have flood insurance.

My Dock
From a previous post, there was a picture of my dock and boat. Well, this is a picture on my dock without the boat. Again the only thing you can see is the pilings and the storage box, everything else is under water

My Boat
I had moved my boat to a friends dock because the canal is wider then my canal. If you look closely, the boat across the canal, not the one directly behind mine, broke loose and was floating free before we were able to retie it. You will also notice how high my boat is sitting over the pilings. As the water receded, I had to make sure the deck did not hang up on the pilings.
Again great pictures, but scary also.Have a great day you two
